IPL 10 RCB vs GL: Gujarat wraps up Bangalore for 134

Bengaluru: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) batsmen once again failed miserably as Gujarat Lions (GL) succeeded in bundling out the home team for just 134 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 10 match at M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Thursday.

The RCB top order, which features some of world's most destructive batsmen like Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli, looked clueless against Gujarat bowlers as half of their team had returned to pavilion with mere 60 odd runs on the scoreboard.

Chris Gayle continued to be slow as well as out of touch as he got out after scoring 8 runs off 11 balls. Skipper Virat Kohli hit a six in his 10-run inning but he could not last for more than 13 balls at the wicket.

Travis Head, who got a game today, went for a golden duck, while AB de Villiers (5 off 11) fell prey to a bad call by Mandeep Singh (8 off 14) and got run out. Kedar Jadhav was looking in destructive form, but lack of experience made him throw his wicket at the most crucial situation in the match. He scored 31 runs off 18 balls, with 4 fours and a six.

Pawan Negi also started off quite aggressively scoring 32 runs off 19 balls, with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Similar to the rest of the RCB batting, he also never thought of staying at the crease till the end and got out following a mis-timed sweep off a googly. Aniket Choudhary remained unbeaten at 15 runs off 12 balls, with 1 four.

Andrew Tye once again bowled an exceptional four-over spell as he only conceded 12 runs and also bagged three important wickets. Ravindra Jadeja looked in good flow as he took two wickets and went for only 28 runs in his four overs.

Basil Thampi bagged the wicket of Virat Kohli but gave away 34 runs in his four overs. Ankit Soni got the wicket of Negi and gave away 28 runs in his three overs. James Faulkner, who has been given a chance by GL today, got the wicket of Sreenath Aravind due to a terrific catch at the boundary line by Brendon McCullum. Nathu Singh bowled two overs and gave 8 runs for no wicket.

Gujarat Lions will soon come back on the ground to chase down a small target of 135 runs.
