New Delhi: With the help of blistering innings from Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard, Mumbai Indians (MI) piled up a huge total of 212/3 against Delhi Daredevils (DD) in Indian Premier League at Feroz Shah Kotla ground here on Saturday.

Opener Lendl Simmons played a commendable inning of 66 runs off only 43 balls and smashed 5 fours and 4 sixes, while Kieron Pollard contributed 63 runs off 35 balls, and laced his inning with 5 fours and 4 sixes. Hardik Pandya also ensured that the scoring rate does not go down during the slog overs, with his 29-run unbeaten inning. He took 14 balls and hit one four and 3 sixes.

Simmons' opening partner Parthiv Patel provided a solid start to Mumbai Indians with his 22-ball 25-run inning, in which he found the ropes thrice. Captain Rohit Sharma once again failed to perform and got out after adding only 10 runs off 6 balls.

Pat Cummins was the most expensive bowler for DD as he gave away 59 runs in his four overs for no wickets.

Delhi Daredevils captain Zaheer Khan, though, could not bag any wickets but remained economical giving away only 29 runs in his four overs. Kagiso Rabada also bowled a commendable spell of four-overs giving away 33 runs for one wicket. He only conceded 7 runs in the 19th over of the inning despite bowling a wide delivery which gave two runs of MI.

Corey Anderson was extremely expensive in his two overs as he gave away 29 runs for the wicket of Lendl Simmons. Amit Mishra conceded 37 runs in his four overs for one wicket of Parthiv Patel. Mohammed Shami bowled just two overs for 16 runs and no wickets.

Delhi Daredevils, which won the previous match chasing down a huge target of 209 runs, has been given an even better one this time. Soon DD batsmen will be back on the ground with their reply with the bat.
