India vs New Zealand 1st T20: Black caps defeat India by 80 runs

Wellington: After a poor bowling performance, the Indian batting line up completely dismantled against the calculative bowling attack by New Zealand in the first T20 international match played here on Wednesday. India lost to Kiwis by 80 runs.

Chasing a mammoth target of 220 runs, Rohit Sharma was the first one to fall prey of Southee by scoring just 1 run. Dhawan and Shankar built a partnership but could not sustain it for long and India was 64/3.

Rishabh Pant, who was included in the playing 11, failed to impress with the bat as he was clean bowled by Santner after scoring just 4 runs.

Dhoni (39 off 31 balls) looked in a good form but wickets continued to fall from the other end.

New Zealand lead the series by 1-0.
