Hypocrisy is an epidemic in this country. We have incorrigible opportunists in the guise of politicians; we have self-amused, mediocre buffoons in the guise of news anchors; we have narcissist, bigotwriters/activists in the guise of intellectuals. Everybody pandering to constituencies and taking convenient, hypocritical stands on issues of national interests, depending on whom they are in bed with! When events like NIT Srinagar, which don’t cut ice with their limited intellect and challenge their permanently frozen positions, stare them in their face, they look away. Although they send cold, dry whispers through media to mark their perfunctory ‘protests’ over the ‘unfortunate incidents’, but they no longer froth at mouth shouting about freedom of expression and tolerance or the ‘Azadi’. It is an enduring shame in this country that we have public figureswho swear, not by the merits and balances of the public issues, but by the political, and if I may say, by an ideologically racist agenda.

Nothing Kashmiri About It!

The increasing radicalization of the valley, which has penetrated into institutes of excellence like NITs, is a dangerous trend. Institutes like NIT Srinagar, where technically sufficient and competitive students are supposed to be nurtured, are also becoming dens of India haters.Guys who celebrate the loss of India; whether it is cricket or human lives, reveals the hypocritical, parasitical trait of availing all host largesse at the expense of the host itself! It represents a typical Pakistani mindset, which breeds on Ghazwa-e-Hind (destruction of Kafir Indians), just like the doctrine of the two nation theory, espoused by their completely westernized, gluttonous and retarded founder- Muhammad Ali Jinnah. A similar incident happened in Meerut, where some students cheered for Pakistan in an Indo-Pak cricket match, couple of years back. Cheering for your ‘favourite’ team is not sedition, but a little bit of self-respect and shame, and soft corner for your country doesn’t do any harm either. My anguish is that these India haters at NIT, Srinagar will avail best education, go on to join some big INDIAN IT firms, earn good money and live comfortably without an iota of shame, while their less-privileged brethren in the valley shall grow old, throwing stones at the police, on the intemperate lanes of Srinagar.

There is absolutely nothing Kashmiri about this shameless display of celebration at NIT Srinagar, since people of Jammu and Buddhisthts of Leh and Laddakh are also as Kashmiri, but they don’t indulge in self-cannibalization. The Pakistan inspired romantic illusion of a radical Islamic State of the Mullahs in the form of Kashmir, based on death cult, which has inflicted war on the world, is fueling this hate-mongering.

Sleeping with the Enemy

The students at NIT Srinagar who took upon themselves to restore little dignity to the country, were at the receiving end of the J&K govt. We are the only country who would brutalize and beat its own children for protesting against anti-country chants and waging the national flag in the campuses. Last time I checked, J&K was a part of India! The police action against these students flies in the face of Indian state, who is nothing but a confused state. BJP, by going to bed with the PDP, the known backers of separatists has brought glaring contradiction to its ‘nationalistic’ stand on Kashmir. It is now totally dumbfounded, whether to compromise the alliance or its chest-thumping on nationalism. Here is the thing- when you make love with the elephant, you never know when pleasure would turn into pain!

Predictably, editor aunties and author uncles, who were busy clicking selfies with the ‘Azad students’ at JNU and Hyderabad University have vanished. Coverage on the shoddy treatment meted out to young boys and girls at NIT have been blacked out. Absolute silence! Just because they don’t wear kurta pajama and look like left-wing activists, which are in fashion, lately. What utter, absolute hypocrisy!Students who speak for the country have been abandoned and those who want to cut the roots of the nation are being eulogized for standing up for ‘freedom of speech’. This elitist, ideological racism must end, now!
