Medical report of Delhi Chief Secretary confirms injuries on face

New Delhi: The medical examination of Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, who accused Aam Aadmi Party MLAs of assault, has confirmed injuries on and near his face.

The top bureaucrat had alleged on Tuesday that he was manhandled by AAP MLAs Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal in presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal at a midnight emergency meeting on Monday night. Significantly, the meeting took place at the CM’s residence.

His medical test was carried out at Aruna Asaf Hospital, where doctors confirmed bruises and swelling on and near his face.

"Tenderness and mild swelling behind both ears, bruise over lower lip right side and swelling over cheekbone," sources said.

Delhi Police has arrested both the MLAs who have been accused of assaulting the Chief Secretary. While Jarwal had been arrested last night for interrogation, Khan surrendered before police on Wednesday.

In a letter to DCP North, the Chief Secretary has claimed that the AAP MLAs abused him and also threatened to frame him in false cases inclding under the SC/ST Act.

"Amanatullah Khan, without any provocation from my side, started hitting and assaulting me and hit several blows with fists on my head and temple," the bureaucrat said.

"My spectacles fell on the ground. I was in a state of shock. With difficulty I was able to leave the room and get into my official car and leave chief minister's residence," he said.

AAP, however, has rubbished all the allegations saying that the bureaucrat is doing so at the behast of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

"We are being hounded. Delhi Chief Secretary says he was beaten by AAP MLAs. There is no proof that he was beaten," senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP said.
