Sub-Inspector stabbed by bike borne criminals in Kanpur

Kanpur: In a daring act, some bike borne criminals stabbed a police sub-inspector (SI) during a routine checking in Barra area of this Industrial city of Uttar Pradesh on sunday afternoon.

The SI Rajesh Kumar sustained grievous injuries and had to be rushed to the hospital where his condition was stated to be serious, police sources said. The incident took place near Mayank intersection when he stopped some youths for checking.

Criminals,however, managed to escape from the spot. They had been identified and a manhunt was launched to nab them, sources added.
