Shaadi season on again, hurry up bookings only 41 dates in 2016

Lucknow: Not a very comfortable situation for those who are lined up for matrimony this year as 2016 has hardly 41 auspicious dates available for the purpose, the least in four years, according to Hindu panchang.

The Hindu festival of Makar Sakranti marks the end of inauspicious period of 'Kharmas' and onset of auspicious days from January 16 specially for marriages.

“There are only 41 ' muhurats' available this year which are very less and the least in four years,' said Jyotishacharya Pandit Devendra Pathak. Adding ''according to Gregorian calendar the festival of Basant Panchmi on January 24 presents ‘Sarvarth Siddhi Yog’,and most of holy works can be performed on this date,” said Pathak.

Interestingly, three months in succession i.e August, September and October have no auspicious dates.

Good dates for ‘Shaadi’ in 2016 are:

• January—16,19,21,25,26,29 and 31
• February—1 ,2,4,5,6,7,12,13,24,25 and 29
• March—1,2,3,5,10 and 11
• April—17,18,20,22 and 26
• July—11,13 and 14
• November—17,23,24,25 and 30
• December—1,3,13 and 14
