Mumbai: This Diwali is apparently going to be huge Bollywood box-office, as two big budget movies – 2.0 and Thugs of Hindostan – are all set to collide.

The makers of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar-starrer '2.0' are yet to decide the release date of the much-anticipated movie. Earlier, the film was scheduled to release before Rajinikanth’s other film this year, Kaala.

Later, it was confirmed that Kaala will release ahead of ‘Robot' sequel. Now, there are speculations that Shankar's directorial venture will hit theatres on Diwali this year.

Interestingly, another big-Bollywood project starring Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Thugs of Hindostan is scheduled for the same day release.

As per the sources, the makers of 2.0 have requested to postpone the release of Thugs of Hindostan, but Aamir Khan is totally against it.

"The makers of 2.0 were very keen to release the movie this Diwali. So they went on to request for postponement of Thugs of Hindostan. But Aamir feels that Diwali would be the perfect time to release the multi-starrer movie and hence he is not ready to postpone the release date," said a source.

2.0 has been in post production phase for quite some time now. Kaala, however, is sche duled to hit theatres on April 27. The film, directed by Pa Ranjith, features Huma Qureshi, Nana Patekar and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles.
