Karachi: At least 16 people were killed and 40 other injured in Pakistan when two trains collided in the Pakistani port city of Karachi on Thursday.

According to Police,"This was the second major collision within two months."

The officials said that rescue team was taking out people trapped in the wreckage.

Senior police officer, Javen Akbar Riaz, on the other hand said " The injured were taken to Karachi's Jinnah Hospital."

  • The collision occurred between Zakaria Express train and Fareed Express train.

  • More than 1000 people were on the trains when the accident occurred.
