VARANASI, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar may soon share dais with Hardik Patel, the young face of Patidar reservation movement in Gujarat, at the Kisan Mahapanchayat rally scheduled in the last week of February in Varanasi, the Parliamentary Constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Incidentally, this will be the first foray of Hardik Patel outside Gujarat in which ‘Patel Navnirman Sena’ and Janata Dal(United) will come together to address the problems of ryots across India.

The strategy for the mahapanchayat would be decided on January 8 by JDU’s Member of Parliament (MP) K C Tyagi and R C P Singh, according to JDU sources.

It is being claimed that over five lakhs peasants from Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and many other states are expected to arrive for the mahapanchayat. The key points to be discussed in Mahapayat included waiver of taxes on agricultural articles, agricultural insurance and national law for the rivers.

Hardik, who is behind the bars for violating the ban order in Rajkot in October last, may soon walk free from the jail after a charge sheet is filed in his case.

The party strongly believes that by roping him JDU party may expand its base to make inroads in other states as well, sources added.

It is, however, still not known if Rashtriya Janata Dal’s (RJD) President, Lalu Prasad Yadav, will be invited to the rally or not.
