Ranchi: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has been sentenced to 14 years in prison along with the fine of Rs 30 Lakh in Dumka treasury case. The verdict in the fourth fodder scam case was given by the special CBI court on Saturday, after the RJD chief was convicted in it on March 19 last.

Judge Shuvapal Singh had delivered the judgment of Lalu's conviction relating to fraudulent withdrawal of Rs 3.13 crore from December 1995 to January 1996 from the Dumka treasury. The verdict, scheduled on March 15, was deferred four times.

The court had, however, acquitted former Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra.
