India gradually moving ahead to be ODF country: Sussex Univ Prof

Lucknow: In an exclusive interview with newstrack.com, Dr Robert Chambers, Professor, University of Sussex, United Kingdom accepted that Swachh Bharat Mission has brought an attitudinal change in India but pointed out that it will take time to make the country open defecation free (ODF).

The professor, who has been working extensively over the past 18 years for sanitation across the world and has visited almost every state of India, also said that we should not rush for the results as it will take time for achieving the ultimate target.

"We must focus on what legacy we are going to leave for our children, as defecation in open will only make our kids ill and feeble," he asserted on occasion on World Water Day.

It is worth mentioning that the University of Sussex is a public research university in Falmer region of the country. Its campus is located within the South Downs National Park and is at a short distance from Central Brighton.
