Kanpur: As many as four senior professors of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur have been found guilty of harassing and using objectionable words against a Dalit professor working in the campus.

The matter was highlighted, on Saturday, when assistant professor and an alumnus of IIT-K Subramaniam Sadrela, complained the authorities about the rude behaviour being tolerated by him.

A three-membered inquiry board, headed by Vice-Chncellor of AKTU Vinay Kumar, was also formed to inspect about the complaint and the four professors were held guilty. Decision regarding their fate in the institution will be given on March 19.

It is to be mentioned that IITs are the one of the most prestigious institutions of the country and any such incident maligns the image of the education being provided in the country.
