Moradabad: Integral Coach Factory (ICF) has developed a modern milk van which will help in the transportation of milk. Research, Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO) team has started milk van’s trial from Bareilly to Dalatpur of Uttar Pradesh which will be continued till August 29.

Earlier, milk was transported via goods train which runs on a maximum speed of 75 km/h owing to which the chances of milk curdling increases.

The milk van-

  • As per the ministry, milk van carries 44,666 liters capacity.
  • Milk van had been run on a speed of 70 km/hr on Friday’s trial.
  • Furthermore, its speed is expected to be increased to 120km/hr in the coming days.

“RDSO has started a trial of milk van, said Additional Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Mishra.

Indian Railways coach factory has named the milk van as ‘Milk Tank Van VVH-1’ which will run on a speed between 115 km/hr to 150 km/hr.
