Diverse tree species can be more effective for environment: study

Washington DC: According to the study researches demonstrated that forest with diverse tree species can be more productive rather than one specific species.

Scientist from the University of Freiburg have confirmed the data and this study has been published in the Journal- Global Change Biology. Researcher says that there is direct positive relationship between diverse tree species and ecosystem functioning.

The experiment covers around 22 plots planted with one, two, three, four, five native tree species. Since tress grows with different growth rates. Plot with diverse species have great structural diversity with different height, shape and diameter of trees. Annual data on size, shape, height of the trees seen as the productivity and stability of the ecosystem, come from the period of 2006 and 2016.

The differences from sever dry period caused the tropical climate phenomenon EL Nino was especially pronounced. So, for reducing the effects of Co2 in the environment scientist are trying to maintain bio diversity in ecosystem .
