Amit Shah to visit Himachal on Wednesday to finalise poll strategy

Shimla: Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah who is on a whirl-wind tour of the country to enlarge its footprint in the east and north-east and free the country from Congress misrule has his next stop at Palampur in Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh to work out strategy to defeat the party in next year's assembly elections and move closure to Congress-Mukt Bharat plan.

Called by some party men ,modern Chanakya, who has taken the party to a new height, Shah, during his two-day stay in the state on Wednesday and Thursday will meet party legislators and members of parliament, besides others, to finalise plan to dethrone Virbhadra Singh who is the longest surviving chief minister.

Singh has remained in the saddle despite charges of corruption and collection of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The Central Bureau of Investigation has probed one of the cases against him and already filed a charge-sheet .

This will come handy to Shah and his party during the elections in the state. The party president, however, will also look for some other issues to be highlighted during the polls which can help him upset Singh's apple-cart.

Shah will devote the entire first day in talking to legislators and MPs and taking the feedback on strength and weaknesses of the party. He will talk to important non--party men the next day before finalising the strategy.

Union minister for health and family members and party Rajya Sabha member J P Nadda and state party president Satpal Singh will play a key role in this connection.

The party will also discuss the permutation and combination which can be gainfully used by the party against the Congress. It is likely to identify anti-Congress forces in the state and bring them to the party's fold .

Shah who has already visited West Bengal and Odisha under the look east plan will go to some other poll-bound states to achieve the ultimate goal of reaching Panchayat to parliament.

Himachal Pradesh is one of the six states which are presently under the Congress rule. Out of these three states, Himachal, Karnataka and Meghalaya will go to polls next year.
