Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who has started his second inning at the helm of Uttar Pradesh, seems determined to take his government's ambitious project 'Mission Shakti' to the next level.

This campaign has been empowering, uplifting, and safe-guarding the women and daughters of the state ever since its inception. In Yogi government 2.0, the Mission Shakti is all set to get into the fourth phase with preparations being already underway to give momentum to this campaign once again.

The officials have been asked to prepare an action plan ensuring all the women of the state get the benefits of various government schemes and live their lives with dignity and respect in a safe environment.

During the last tenure of the Yogi government, along with running a massive awareness campaign across districts, women were connected with various beneficial schemes in the first, second and third phases of Mission Shakti. In the third phase, the Department of Women and Child Development and the Department of Child Development Services and Nutrition made over 28.32 lakh people aware in just four months till December 2021.

So far, over 10 crore people have been made aware about Mission Shakti across phases. Under the campaign, the work of making people aware of various laws and provisions related to violence against women and children was done in all the districts. The departments organised special programmes to educate people against harassment of women and children, domestic violence, drug abuse, trafficking, child marriage, discrimination, child labour, and other exploitations.

Ensuring all women get the benefits

CM Yogi took the initiative to reach out to every eligible person in the state. Under the third phase of Mission Shakti, not only the women were educated in Swavalamban (self-reliance) Camp about various government schemes, like the Destitute Women Pension Scheme, Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana and Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojna, but the applications to get the benefits of those schemes were also accepted under the same roof.

The government officials also ran various events like 'Haq Ki Baat Jiladhikari Ke Saath', 'Kanya Janmotsav', 'Swavalamban Camp', 'Legal Awareness Campaign', establishment of 'Gudda Guddi Board', honouring meritorious girl students and Gender Champions to ensure all women are appreciated and aware about their rights.
