Lucknow: The sweetness of Western Uttar Pradesh's sugar, which had been forgotten due to the misrule of previous governments led by followers of Jinnah and, which had turned the region into a land of riots, would be for foreigners to taste with the opening of the Noida International Airport, said Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday.

Addressing a huge gathering on the occasion of the laying of foundation stone of the airport, CM Yogi said that Uttar Pradesh has got a new identity with the opening of the airport.

"The people here are ready to teach them a lesson in the elections. All of you have seen UP changing. You have been witness to how the government reached out to people with its helping hand not only in normal days, but also throughout the global pandemic", the CM remarked.

He added, "Uttar Pradesh is scaling new heights. The welfare schemes of the Central Government are reaching the people without any discrimination."

CM Yogi expressed his gratitude to 7,000 farmers who came to Lucknow and provided land for the Noida International Airport.

He said: "The international airport at Jewar is not just an airport. Many different projects are linked to the airport. Metro work has been started in Gautam Buddh Nagar at the cost of Rs 1125 crores while Rs 168 crore is being spent on elevated road. Work is underway on Ganga water project, bus terminal and indoor stadium. Supply of Ganga water has started in Greater Noida while eight new industrial sectors have been set up. Meanwhile, the construction of a world-class film city, medical park, logistics park and heritage city are also on the anvil."
