Lucknow, July 15, 2021: Uttar Pradesh Law Minister thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving a five-year extension to the Central Government-sponsored CSS scheme for the development of judiciary infrastructure.

Congratulating PM Modi for his efforts to strengthen and improve the judicial process, Pathak said, "With this effort of the Prime Minister, justice will be accessible to the person standing on the last rung."

With the expansion of this scheme, citizens of big states like Uttar Pradesh will get special benefits. He said, "PM Modi has always endeavored to make the process of justice easy and accessible, which has started yielding good results. "

The Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS) has been extended from April 1, 2021, to March 31, 2026. During this period, Rs 9,000 crore will be spent, with a central share of Rs 5,357 crore. This includes Rs 50 crore for the Gram Nyayalaya scheme.

The decision will help in the construction of 3,800 courtrooms for judicial officers of district and subordinate courts, 4,000 residential units, 1,450 lawyer rooms, 1,450 toilet complexes, and 3,800 digital computer rooms. The money will be released to the states only when the notified Gram Nyayalayas will start functioning, the judicial officers will be appointed and the information will be given on the Gram Nyayalaya portal of the Justice Department.
