UP: Gangster with Rs 1 lakh bounty gunned down in encounter

Noida: Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday gunned down a wanted criminal with a bounty of Rs 1 lakh on his head. Three police jawans sustained injuries in the gunfight while ADG Meerut zone Prashant Kumar and SSP Noida Ajay Pal Singh had a narrow escape in the encounter.

The criminal, identified as Shravan Chaudhry, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. He was wanted in a murder case.

Soon after getting informed about the wanted criminal, police started rigorous search operation amid which gunfight erupted.

Police recovered an AK-47 along with one SBBL gun from the site of encounter.
