Lucknow: After a high-voltage surrender drama outside the Lucknow SSP office, the rape accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar pleads innocent and said that he has been implicated in the case.

Speaking to media persons after meeting the SSP, Sengar said there was no question of surrendering. He said, "I am not a fugitive and ready for any probe. I will come whenever police officials summon me."

Supporters of BJP MLA from Unnao also clashed with the media persons outside the SSP office in presence of police.

Chief photojournalist of newstrack.com, Ashutosh Tripathi also suffered injuries after goons of the MLA engaged in scuffle with media persons.

LIVE UPDATES:

- FIR to be lodged under appropriate sections considering allegations of rape on Kuldeep Sengar and others.

- Case to be handed over to CBI for further investigation.

- CO Safipur (Unnao), Kunwar Bahadur Singh has been suspended for negligence in handling the repeated complaints given by the victim.

- Dr D Dwivedi CMS, Dr Prashant Upadhyay, EMO, will be suspended.

- Disciplinary proceedings initiated against three Drs namely Dr Manoj Kr Orthosurgeon, Dr G P Sachan Surgeon, and Dr Gaurav Agrawal EMO for laxity in giving proper medical care and treatment both prior to judicial custody and on referral from jail to distt Hospital while in judicial custody.

- Family of victim to be given adequate security.

Earlier in the day, wife of BJP MLA defended him saying that both the woman and her husband should undergo a narco test.

Sangeeta Singh also told the media after meeting Director General of Police O.P. Singh here that her husband, Kuldeep Singh Sengar, was a victim of "political conspiracy" and was innocent of the crime he is supposed to have committed.

She said the rape victim should undergo a narco test and so should her husband, an MLA from Unnao who has claimed innocence.

She said she had been told that a free and fair probe had been initiated into the entire episode that has led to the arrest of the MLA's brother and four aides following the death of the young woman's father in police custody.

Meanwhile, a Special Investigative Team (SIT) reached Unnao on Wednesday. It has submitted its preliminary report to the government as desired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
