Gorakhpur: Uttar Pradesh has been geared up again to welcome the galaxy of celebrities and host the star-studded affair, this time in Gorakhpur.

On the lines of the Saifai Mahotsav, that was held every year in the native village of Mulayam Singh Yadav every year in December, state Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has now decided to organise a Gorakhpur Mahotsav every year.

The three day event is being organised for the first time on January 11, 12 and 13 in 2018 and is said to be the biggest of its kind of mahotsav ever organised in Gorakhpur.

A mega trade fair and a variety of activities and events have been designed which includes a children festival comprising of various academic, sports and cultural inter-school competitions.

The programmes is categorised in three major events-- Bollywood night first (On11th Jan), Bhojpuri Night (12 Jan), Bollywood Night second (13 Jan). The venues for most of the events will either by the Gorakhpur University or the Gorakhnath Temple.

It is to be mentioned that while Saifai was a private affair organised by the Yadav family, the Gorakhpur Mahotsav will be organised by the state government.

The event will be inaugurated by UP governor Ram Naik on Thursday and concluding ceremony will be attended by Yogi adityanath.

A bhajan evening has been organised on day 3 at the gorakhnath temple where noted singers Anup Jalota and Anuradha Paudwal will be performing in presence of CM Yogi.

A logo has also been designed for the Gorakhpur Mahotsav. The logo has a photograph of the Gorakhnath temple, and carries an image of Gorakhnath. Tagline of the logo says 'Aroh Tamaso Jyoti'.

Along with Bollywood and Bhojpuri celebs, an opportunity is being given to local artists to showcase their talent. The famous names that will mark their presence at the event include Shankar Mahadevan, Malini Awasthi, Ravi Kishan, lalit Pandit, Shaan, Bhoomi Trivedi, Anuradha Paudwal, Anup Jalota and mimicry artist Jimmy Mosis.
