The fifth day of Navratri is the day of worship of Goddess Skandamata. Skandamata is usually depicted carrying her son Lord Kartikeya in her lap.

With four arms and a calm face, she radiates motherly love. Worshiping Skandmata is like inculcating her motherly qualities, which include love, protection and the steadfastness of motherly care. It is believed that by worshiping her, Goddess Skanda always protects her devotees. In such a situation, one must understand properly the worship method of Devi Skandmata including the mantra to be chanted and her favorite color.

Skandmata Puja Method- You should wake up in Brahma Muhurta and take bath. Then one should wear clean clothes. After this, offer flowers and garlands to the idol of the mother and light incense and lamps. After this, his aarti and mantra should be chanted. At last the Prasad should be distributed after offering it to the Mother Goddess.

Favorite color of Devi Skandmata- Goddess Skandmata loves vibrant yellow color. Women should wear yellow color while worshiping him and yellow flowers should be offered to his idol.
