Indian youth should work at least 70 hours every week, said Infosys CEO Narayana Murthy.

That means if we talk about every day then the youth need to work 10 hours every day. This statement has been given by Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy.

He said this during a podcast program 'The Record'. He also referred to the Second World War during this conversation. He said that during the Second World War, the people of Japan and Germany worked long hours. Similarly, Indian youth also need to work longer hours.

He also talked about increasing the productivity of work. Besides, emphasis has also been laid on removing delays in work.

Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal echoed Narayana Murthy's advice and said that a similar call for professionals to work longer had been made in 2020, when he said Indians would need to work 60 hours a week for the next two to three years to revive the post-pandemic economy.

A few years ago, Jack Ma, who founded Alibaba, supported the controversial "996" rule in China's tech industry in a blog post, saying that employees who work long hours will be "rewarded for hard work." This number talks about working from 9 am to 9 pm, six days a week. It is said that the country's big technology companies and start-ups work in a similar way.

The world's richest man and CEO of many companies, Elon Musk, had asked the employees of the Twitter company he bought in October last year to work more than 100 hours a week. According to The Guardian report, in November 2022, Musk sent an email to employees. In it he said that to be successful, Twitter would "need to be very radical." Describing his working style, he said that he sometimes sleeps in the office and expects his employees to do the same.

Similarly, Shantanu Deshpande, CEO of Bombay Shaving Company, had said in a LinkedIn post that freshers should work 18 hours a day. He said eat well and stay fit, but spend 18 hours a day for at least 4-5 years.
