Whangarei( New Zealand): India reaches the Quarter Finals of Under-19 Cricket World Cup after annihilating Papua New Guinea in Group B match this morning.

A quickfire 57 off 39 ball by skipper Prithvi Shaw saw India achieving an easy winning target in its second outing in the WC. Earlier in the first match, India had defeated Australia by a margin of 100 runs.

After winning the toss, India put PNG into bat and bundled it out for just 64 runs thanks to a deadly spell by left-arm orthodox spinner Anukul Roy who claimed 5 wickets for only 14 runs. It took India mere 8 overs to achieve the target and romp home with ten wickets victory.

In other WC Group D match, Pakistan defeated Ireland by nine wickets. Playing first Ireland could muster only 97 runs which Pakistan surpassed at the loss of only one wicket and registering nine wicket-victory. In its first match, Pakistan was handed upset defeat by Afghanistan.
