Team India for South Africa T20Is announced; Suresh Raina recalled

Johannesburg: In a delightful news for all the Suresh Raina fans, the Uttar Pradesh lad has been recalled in the Indian national side for the three-match Twenty20 International (T20I) series against South Africa, confirmed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday.

Legendary southpaw Yuvraj Singh, who could not pass the Yo-Yo Fitness Test, has once again been ignored, while Shardul Thakur has found a place in the 16-men squad.

Axar Patel, Dinesh Karthik and Jaydev Unadkat have also made a cut in the team for the upcoming series, scheduled to begin on February 18.

Shreyas Iyer has, however, been excluded from the side.

Virat Kohli (Captain) Rohit Sharma (vc), Shikhar Dhawa, KL Rahul, Suresh Raina, MS Dhoni (wk), Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, Manish Pandey, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Jaydev Unadkat and Shardul Thakur

The three matches will be played at Johannesburg (Feb 18), Centurion (Feb 21) and Cape Town (Feb 24.)

India finally tasted victory in the third and final Test at the Wanderers here with a 63-run win over the home team. South Africa, however, won the series 2-1.
