A study has claimed that use of mobile phones in toilets can be harmful to the health. The study said that the bacteria which are present on the toilet seat can make you ill.

After the Covid pandemic, people have become more health conscious. But the pandemic also resulted in excessive ised of smart phones among the in youths especially. It is now a common practice among many to use their smart phones even in the toilets.

A study has claimed that use of mobile phones in toilets can be harmful to the health. The study said that the bacteria which are present on the toilet seat can make you ill.

According to a research study by Nordvpa, six out of ten people use smartphones in toilet. 61.6% people who took part in the study said that they used social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Whatsapp and Twitter in the washroom.

33.9% people said that they use smartphone in toilets for current affairs and general knowledge. 24.5% people said that they called their relatives from the washroom.

Infection control specialist Dr. Hayden said that the smartphones increased the bacteria ten times on the toilet seat. He called it ‘Digital age mosquitos’. The reason behind it that when we touch our toilet seat and then the phone, the bacteria shifts to phone from the seat which becomes cross contamination and phone becomes the infection source.

These bacterias can alive for 28 days on a phone screen. Using the phone, they enter in our body parts.

So be smart and avoid using mobiles in the toilets.
