Washington: The Aedes aegypti mosquito developed to fight the dreaded Zika virus will not have harm the environment, according to United States health regulators.

The Aedes aegypthi mosquito was developed by a Oxitec, a United Kingdom company. The male mosquitoes are modified in a way that their offspring will die before reaching the adulthood or being able to reproduce.

The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted preliminary findings in the Florida and ruled that these mosquitoes will not have an impact on our environment.
