Every year the great festival of Vijayadashami (Dussehra) is celebrated on the tenth day of Ashwin month. This year this festival was celebrated with great pomp on 24th October i.e. Tuesday.

This festival is celebrated as the victory of good over the evil. According to religious beliefs, on this day Lord Rama had killed the demon king Ravana. Apart from this, on this day Mother Durga had killed the demon Mahishasura.

The day of Dussehra is special in many ways. On this day, wealth, wealth, fame along with health and victory over enemies can be achieved with some sure shot measures. The astrologers say that on this day, by following these, one can attain eternal virtue.

Freedom from sins: There is also a tradition of seeing Neelkanth bird on the day of Dussehra. According to beliefs, seeing the Neelkanth bird gives relief from sins. Apart from this, it is also considered a symbol of prosperity.

Freedom from Saturn's Mahadasha: Shami plant is also worshiped on the day of Dussehra. On this day, by putting an iron ring in a mustard oil lamp under the Shami tree and lighting it, one gets relief from the pain of Shani.

Enemies are defeated: There is also a tradition of worshiping Aparajita Devi on the day of Dussehra. Lord Shri Ram had also worshiped Aparajita Devi to defeat the ten-headed Ravana, hence those who have fear of enemies in their life should get Aparajita on this day. The Goddess must be worshipped.

There will be progress in business: Those people who are facing obstacles in their business and their business is not running properly, they should wrap the coconut in a red cloth before burning Ravana on the day of Dussehra, apply seven tilaks of kajal on it and throw it in the burning Ravana. This removes obstacles to trade.

Achievement of powers through weapon worship: There is also a tradition of weapon worship on the day of Dussehra. On this day, weapons must be worshiped to attain powers. It is also considered a symbol of prosperity.

You will get relief from diseases: The great festival of Dussehra is falling on Tuesday this time. In such a situation, by reciting Sunderkand on this day, devotees of Ram get relief from Hanuman diseases.
