New Delhi: The God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar, who himself is an inspiration of many, has an idol whom he calls his batting hero.

His hero is none other than the West Indies Cricket legend Vivian Richards, who turned 66 on Wednesday.

Describing Caribbean run-machine as his batting hero, Sachin Tendulkar shared his photograph along with the former on micro-blogging site Twitter, wishing him a very happy birthday.

Richards was an indubitable ruler of his cricketing era. He was the major charm of the West Indies side which ruled around two decades.

Viv, who featured in 121 Tests for WI, amassed 8,540 runs at a staggering average of 50.23. His batting chart is laced with 24 tons and 45 half-centuries.

He also represented West Indies in 187 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and played a key role in World Cup victories in 1975 and 1979.

In a career spanning from 1974-1991, he captained his team from 1980-1991.
