Lucknow: In an effort to promote education for girls, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has announced Rs 10,000 reward for every girl in the state who passed class 10th examination.

The announcement was made by Uttar Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister, Dinesh Sharma.

The class 10th result 2017 for CBSE and ICSE boards have been already declared. UP Board, however, is yet to announce the High School result.

Officials said that the scheme will be on the lines of the existing Kanya Vidya Dhan Yojna (KVDY).

It may be mentioned that the decision to reward about 1,00,000 girls in the state comes on a day when Chief Minister Adityanath turns 45.
