UP government's cabinet meeting: GST to be implemented from July 1

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government has announced that the Goods and Service Tax (GST) will be implemented in the state from July 1.

Decision regarding this was taken in the cabinet meeting of the state, on Tuesday, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The meeting also passed some other important proposals including approval to District Mineral Fund's manual and proposal to give government tenders through e-trading.

It was also decided in the meeting that Uttar Pradesh Day will be celebrated every year on January 24.

Transfer policy approved:

• The UP cabinet also approved the transfer policy in the meeting which states that government officials of all categories will be transferred before June 30.
• The government, however, has said that the divyang people will be given relaxation in the transfers.
• Maximum limit for the transfers has been kept at 20 per cent b y the government.

• GST to be implemented from July 1. Bill regarding this will be presented in the Summer session of Legislative assembly from May 15.
• Gorakhpur Fertilizer factory to get large government investment.
• A district wise mining foundation to be formed to check the problems of people living nearby the mining site. The funds coming to this foundation will be used in providing water, education and irrigation facilities to the people of the district.
• Every Year 'UP Diwas' will be celebrated on January 24.
