1993 Mumbai serial blasts: UP, Gujarat ATS arrest accused Qadir Ahmad in Bijnor

Bijnor: Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh ATS arrested a person named Qadir Ahmad from Bijnor's Najibabad in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, which killed 257 people and injured over 700.

Qadir is accused of receiving the consignment of explosives, arms and ammunition that was supplied by Tiger Memon in Jamnagar (Gujarat) which were later used in the Mumbai serial blasts.

Inspector General of Police (IG) ATS Aseem Arun said he will be produced before a magistrate and taken to Gujarat on transit remand.

A special TADA court on June 16 had convicted six accused, including key plotters Abu Salem and Mustafa Dossa, while acquitting one.
