TV show host Suhaib Ilyasi gets lifer for wife's murder

Mumbai: Suhaib Ilyasi, a popular TV show host, has been sentenced life imprisonment on Wednesday for killing his wife Anju.

Ilyasi, who had been arrested for the murder, was convicted by a Delhi court on December 16 in an order passed by additional sessions judge, SK Malhotra.

The TV show host was found guilty of murder under the Indian Penal Code.

It is to be mentioned that Illaysi's wife was found dead under mysterious circumstances in January 2000. Her body was found in her East Delhi residence and had multiple stab injuries.

Earlier, the police was told that Anju has committed suicide but Suhaib got arrested in March 2000 after the investigation.

Anju's mother had registered a case of dowry against the achor after his sister-in-law and mother-in-law alleged that he used to torture his wife.
