Supreme Court extends parole of Subrata Roy till August 3

New Delhi: The Supreme Court of India on Monday extended the parole of Sahara Chief Subrata Roy till August 3.

The order extending his parole was given by the single judge bench of Justice T S Thakur . The judge asked him to deposit a total of Rs 300 crores before that period to Security and Exchange Board of India by that period. If he fails to do so he will have to go to the jail again.

He was granted parole by the court on May 6 last till July 11 following death of his mother due to an ailment.

Roy was sent to jail on May 4, 2014 for not obeying the orders of the Supreme Court.
