Samajwadi Party-Congress forms alliance ahead of UP polls

Lucknow: Congress on Saturday put on hold the decision over Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance till Sunday and that is why it did not release the candidate list which is known to be finalised.

All India Congress Committee General Secretary in-charge of the state Ghulam Nabi Azad on Saturday said that the decision over Samajwadi Party-Congress alliance has been put on hold till Sunday that is why Due to the same, Congress has not released the list

Congress party’s first list containing names of 140 candidates for the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls is likely to be released tomorrow.

“There are no any hindrances coming in discussions regarding SP-Congress alliance,” said Congress state president Raj Babbar.

As per Congress party insiders, the party has finalised the ticket of few candidates including-

  • Noman- Gangoh constituency(Saharanpur)
  • Naresh Saini- Behat (Saharanpur)
  • Imran Masood- Nukkad (Saharanpur)
  • Pankaj Malik- Kairana (Shamli)
  • Shahnawaz Rana- Meerapur (Muzaafarnagar)
  • Amar Pal Sharma- Sahibabad (Gaziabad)
  • Sherbaaz Patan- Chandpur (Bijnaor)

Among these, Shahnawaz Rana and Amar Pal Sharma have recently left their parties SP and Bahujan Samaj Party to join Congress.
