Sonia Gandhi reaches Kashi, embarks upon massive road show

Varanasi: Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi has reached the ‘city of temples’ to participate in a massive road show organised by the party. She landed at Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport to a warm welcome accorded by senior leaders including Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee president Raj Babbar, Pramod Tiwari, Shri Prakash Jaiswal, UP Chief Ministerial face Sheila Dixit and Rita Bahuguna Joshi.

Other details:

• Sonia Gandhi will kick-start her rally from Ambedkar Park at 1.00 pm.
• The road show will cover various places in the city including Nadesar, Chowkaghat, Alaipur, Golgadda, Peelikothi and Maldahiya.
• She would garland statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and Sardar Patel falling en route.
• Her rally will end at the Englishiyaline where Sonia Gandhi will garland the statue of Pandit Kamla Pati Tripathi.
• She will offer prayers at Vishwanath Temple before flying back to Delhi in evening.
