Lucknow: Making Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati jump out of her skin, as many as four of her party’s Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) on Monday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“BSP MLAs Mahavir Rana, Roshan Lal Verma, Romi Sahni and Om Kumar Nehtaur have joined BJP,” said Uttar Pradesh BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya while interacting with media persons. He reiterated that more and more leaders from other parties are likely to join the ‘saffron brigade’ in the times to come ahead of Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

As far as switching parties is concerned, BSP looks like the most affected party in UP even as the party supremo Mayawati always says that those who leave the party are the undesired ones.

Further stating on the occasion, the BJP state President said his party would stage protest against Azam Khan’s statement in the state capital on September 16 next.

It may be recalled that Azam Khan had recently made objectionable remarks against Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and BJP did not want to earn brownie points in order to wean away BSP votes by such tactics.

BJP has been demanding action against the senior Samajwadi Party leader in the wake of his statement which it says is an insult to great leader like Ambedkar as well as of the entire Dalit community.
