Shashi Prakash Singh is the new Advocate General of UP

Lucknow: Senior advocate of the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court, Shashi Prakash Singh has been appointed as the new advocate general of Uttar Pradesh.

A formal announcement will be made regarding his appointment on Tuesday.

- Prakash presently is serving as the National Vice President of the RSS' advocacy council.

- He remained the President of the UP unit of the Council for several years.

It may be mentioned that other names in the race for the post were: Radhakant Ojha, Mahesh Chaturvedi, Manish Goyal, LP Mishra, Ramesh Singh and Raghvendra Singh.
