Rio 2016: India beats Argentina 2-0 in men's Hockey

Rio de Janeiro: India beats Argentina 2-1 in men's Hockey pool match at the Rio Olympics 2016 here on Tuesday.

This is India's first win over Argentina since 2009.

India has now won two matches out of the three played.

It was a sensible start from both the teams but Argentina failed to stop Chinglensana from hitting a goal at the 9th minute of the game.

Argentina gave few scary moments to India but it survived the first quarter without surrendering.

India remained stick to its strategy of playing aggressive that helped to maintain the lead 1-0 till half time.

During the initial minutes of the start of game in second half, Kothajit Khadangbam of India again gave a blow to the opponent by hitting another goal in the 35th minute to make 2-0 lead.

Argentina remained successful in scoring a goal in the last 10 minutes of the game but eventually game went into India’s pouch with 2-1 lead.
