Lucknow: The final verdict over Samajwadi Party and Mukhtar Ansari’s Quami Ekta Dal (QED) alliance will be announced by the parliamentary board on June 25. The decision has been put on hold after Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav voiced discontent over the controversial merger.

UP CM had made it clear during his Jaunpur visit that SP would never entertain any merger if its ministers will justify their respective post and work accordingly. However, there is a possibility that QED-SP alliance could be nullified as Akhilesh has revolted against the senior party leader Shivpal Yadav and expressed his anguish to party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.

What Shivpal Yadav said?

• Decision of SP’s merger with QED was taken by Mulayam Singh Yadav

• Mukhtar Ansari’s brothers Sibakatullah and Afzal were included in the party on Mulayam Singh’s consent

• On being asked the reason behind sacking of SP minister Balram Yadav, Shivpal said that Akhilesh is the CM of the state and he has a right to take decisions
