New Delhi: Listing poverty alleviation, welfare of farmers and jobs to youths as top priorities of the Modi government at the Centre, President Pranab Mukherjee said that the government aimed at providing house to every shelter-less by 2022.

Claiming success of Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan Yojna, he said that the government's endeavour to help people opening new bank accounts will pay rich dividends in the long run. ''It will help reduce poverty,'' he pointed out during his address to both the houses of Parliament on the opening day of Budget session on Tuesday.

  • The budget session will be in two phases - from February 23 to March 16 and April 25 to May 13.
  • Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu will present Rail Budget on February 25.
  • Finance Minister Arun Jaitely will present Economic Survey on Februray 26 and the General Budget on February 29.
