UP Polls: Rajnath Singh mocks at SP-Congress Alliance

Firozabad: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday appealed people of Uttar Pradesh to vote in favour of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, keeping in mind the corruption-free image of the central government over the past two and a half years.

Addressing an election rally here, he hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, saying, "No political opponent has guts to level a single corruption allegation against BJP. Our PM has held India's head high in the world."

Giving credit to UP for helping BJP form its government at the Centre, Rajnath Singh said, "Now it is the responsibility of the people to hand over power to my party in the state too."

Lauding the central government for giving strong reply to the terrorists, Rajnath said, "Our surgical strike has sent out a strong message to the world that we are not going to sit quietly against the terror activities being executed in our country."

"I had given full freedom to our state minister at the SARC Summit to say whatever he wanted to. I visited Pakistan despite the terrorists had threatened to kill me," he added.

Condemning the SP-Congress alliance, he said that even the SP patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav had opposed the pact saying that his party had always been opposing Congress.

During his speech, he also assured the people that the Narendra Modi-led government will make India the economic capital of the world in next 10 years.

It may be mentioned that Firozabad is scheduled to go for polls in the first phase of UP elections on February 11.
