Saharanpur: Taking a dig at opposition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the country was changing but the mindset of some people remained the same.

“Bhaiyoo aur behno... desh badal raha hai lekin kuch logo ka dimag nahi badla,” said Modi while addressing the Vikas Parv Maharally in Saharanpur of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday.

Retirement age of doctors:

Apart from issuing a report card of his government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also announced to increase the doctors' age of retirement to 65 years by the end of this month.

I am a UP wala:

After chanting ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ to begin his speech, Modi said he was worried about UP's development, being a Member of Parliament from the state.

“Mai UP wala hu aur mujhe yaha ka vikaas satata hai...mai aap sabka aashirwaad lene aaya hu,” was Modi’s statement.

Urged doctors:

The Prime Minister urged the doctors to provide free treatment to pregnant women every month, which will help in reducing the mortality rate of pregnant women.

“Agar wo ek saal me 12 din hamari gareeb matao ke liye dete hai to un 12 dino me 12 jaane bachayi ja sakengi.”

The B4 element:

Modi, in his address, urged the people to educate their daughters and promote the cause as well, strengthening the the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.

Development—the only solution to all our problems

The Prime Minister also said that development was the only key to end all the problems.

“Two years ago, media reported that Indian economy was on its low but now things have changed and the intentions of government are clear and that is development, ”said Modi.

The Cleanliness mission

“I am grateful to media and every single Indian for promoting my initiative of cleanliness,” Modi stated.

• Cleanliness mission is not for rich but for poor.

• Illness can be easily prevented by the sense of cleanliness.

Rich vs Poor

“Gas cylinder was made a thing for the rich by the past governments. Poor were not allowed to dream of gas ovens. I told the people, if you can afford it, give up the gas subsidy. 1 crore families have given up subsidy this is not a small thing” he maintained.

• We are going to provide gas connections to 5 crore families.

• Last year we gave gas connections to 3 crore poor families.

Patted self:

Modi, also patted himself for curbing the rate of corruption in his two years of tenure.

“Has any news of corruption come in the media since two year? Earlier the newspapers were filled with such headlines,” he questioned.

Close watch

“People are scrutinising my work very closely and they create a furore on getting any loop hole but I am thankful to them, at least they highlight my demerits and I work on them”, he said.
