PK of Congress; PP of SP, intense Social Media war in offing
Lucknow: Suddenly, Social Media is a buzz word among all the political parties and even Samajwadi Party ,once considered a rural-based outfit, has joined the bandwagon in view of the coming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
Soon after Congress roped in ' Social Media' Guru Prashant Kishor (PK) as strategist , the ruling SP in the state had employed Pankhuri Pathak to tone up the campaign in hi-tech way. Rather newly appointed party spokesperson Pankhuri Pathak will look after the social media campaign of the party in the next assembly polls.
Talking to newztrack.com, she said her mandate was simple and straight i.e to target youth in the age group of 25-30 to the party using social media platforms like Whatsapp, Facebook and Twitter. The idea was to en-cash the popular image of Akhilesh Yadav as a young chief minister and communicate with the youth about government's policies as much as possible, she divulged.
Refusing that the presence of PK had any effect on the strategy and campaign planning of Samajwadi Party, Pankhuri said ''every party has its own way of functioning and why should we bother about others.''
As an initial step, the SP had started making Whatsapp groups at district level and 25- 30 such groups are already ready. ''The feedback so far has been encouraging and we are going to take up other social media tolls after the district Whatsapp groups are through,'' said the young social media wiz of Samajwadi Party.
Pankhuri sought to clarify that this campaign was launched on her own behalf.
