Exclusive: UP govt sweetens taste of employees by Baba honey
Lucknow: The top level bureaucratic change in Uttar Pradesh has paved way for the sale of Baba Ramdev's Patanjali products through outlets of UP State Employees Welfare Corporation.
How the change of guard at the top and the favour to Baba Ramdev are related, it is anybody's guess but the sale of Patanjali products from government outlets will be formalised in a week's time.
Confirming this to newztrack.com , S P Gupta, the managing director of the corporation said the formalities in this regard were underway and it would start in a week's time. He, however, was vague in his reply as to what prompted the state government to take such decision despite many complaints about the quality of products in the recent past when he said '' I have no idea about the details but I can only say it has to take place in about a week.''
It may be recalled that Baba Ramdev had recently met senior Samajwadi Party leader Shivpal Singh Yadav and also proposed to invest in Bundelkhand area of the state. This was followed by some reports about Ramdev having fallen out with Bharatiyya Janata Party for some reason.
It will come as a huge favour to Patanjali prodcuts as the corporation popularly known as Karamchari Kalyan Nigam has about 165 outlets and 20 family bazaar where various products are sold at cheap rates. Patanjali has its own outlets but the state government's support will give it a major boost as far as the sales of Patanjali products ranging from Pulses, sugar to cosmetic items.
