No Lokayukta probe against jailed Gayatri Prajapati

Lucknow: The Lokayukta office will not probe into the complaint presented by activist Dr Nutan Thakur against former Uttar Pradesh minister Gayatri Prajapati.

In his letter dated 06 April 2017 to the social activist, Lokayukta Justice Sanjay Mishra said that since she has filed a Writ petition before Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court which is pending before the Court, hence it would not be proper for the Lokayukta to enquire the matter when the matter is pending before the Court.

Previously, Nutan had requested the Lokayukta to freshly enquire her complaint presented in December 2014, saying that she would be furnishing fresh evidence in the matter.

In her complaint, she had accused the minister of collecting unaccounted wealth by carrying illegal mining in Uttar Pradesh.
