New Delhi: No one expected that a close-range header from substitute player Ricardo Quaresma would give Portugal a 1-0 win over Croatia in the Euro Cup-2016.

Now Portugal will meet Poland, next week, in the ensuing soccer league.

The Quaresma header came just three minutes from the end and when the shot of Cristiano Ronaldo was brilliantly saved by Croatia’s Danijel Subasic. The saved shot settled to tie.

“This was a final. We won, and when you win you're lucky. Sometimes you don't win and you're unlucky. Today, we were the lucky ones,” Porugal coach Fernando Santos said.
