Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Madrasa Shiksha Parishad, the state government body which governs madrassas, issued the letter, directing all the affiliated madrasas to unfurl national flag and recite national anthem on the 70th Independence Day i.e. August 15.

It was after Yogi government's decision that a plea seeking relief was also submitted in the court, which was rejected today.
