Media faces flak from IAS bureaucracy yet again
X

Lucknow: All is not well between media and IAS bureaucracy, still. After the 'Babu' issue, a section of Indian Administrative Service has come down heavily on the fourth pillar for calling a corrupt Andhra Pradesh transport department officer as Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer.

In a recent raid, assets worth Rs 800 crore were recovered from A Mohan , a transport department official in A.P. The certain media entities dubbed him wrongly as IAS which has irked the bureaucracy.

Amrit Abhijat, the Uttar Pradesh cadre officer, has even gone to the extent of describing it as 'yellow journalism' at its best. It, indeed, was an example of journalistic lapse but the generalised comment has also offended the section of media which ,however, is not as vocal as the IAS.

Earlier, a campaign was launched against some media groups for writing IAS officers as 'babus'. Incidentally, Amrit Abhijat was very vocal at that time also and vented his ire against the media on his Facebook wall.

In recent issue also, the diabolical attack was made on the media. The twitter handle of IAS association also retweeted various tweets of IAS fraternity seeking to clarify that the accused transport officer was not an IAS.
